DC Care Sells Plas Newydd Care Home
DC Care is delighted to announce the recent successful sale of Plas Newydd, a well-established care home located in the popular seaside town of Criccieth in Gwynedd, Wales, registered for 18 service users within the category of elderly residential care.
This substantial three-storey detached premises offers accommodation over all three floors. The original building has been extended, providing 18 bedrooms with scope for further expansion.

The business has been acquired by Mr Aga Yamin, a new entrant to the UK sector with previous healthcare background. Summarising his purchase through DC Care, Mr Yamin commented: ”my experience with a complex tertiary hospital motivated me to acquire a care home providing sustainable high quality care to elderly residents and respite care users. After contacting DC Care and promptly receiving a selective list of homes from Lisa Rushworth and Alison Willoughby, I initiated the acquisition process to buy Plas Newydd Care Home. I found both Lisa and Alison extremely professional, helpful, proactive and very supportive throughout and look forward to continuing to work with them as part of my business expansion strategy.”
Our vendor, Mr Pillay, was delighted with the service he received and was keen to let us know he thought we had gone above and beyond what he expected of an agent. He said: “I knew if I wanted to discuss anything at all, Alison and Lisa were on the end of the phone and only too happy to help. Both of them really know the care industry and provided me with absolutely the right advice every step of the way. I’ve already recommended them to other care home owners I know.”
Alison Willoughby (Regional Director) commented: “the sale of individually owned care homes are often quite emotional as owners are understandably very attached to their business and it matters a great deal who the next owner will be. I’m thrilled that Mr Pillay and Mr Yamin got on so well and I know that Mr Pillay will provide support during the transition. This will ensure service users and staff see the sale as a positive move. Both Lisa and I would like to take this opportunity to wish Mr Pillay a happy and well deserved retirement.
